Journal Entry For 2026-08-21
- YouTube Premium raises prices again. 14.99 € to 16.99 € for the individual plan. After we had already canceled the family plan and moved our music listening [to Qobuz](Journal Entry For 2026-05-09)[1] and me finally using my Twitch subscription I have had for years at this point not only for supporting the creators I like but also for watching VODs AND using Netflix more on my tablet AND having things available to me such as Yattee (and, technically, the Brave Browser, although, well you know...) this price raise made me finally cancel YT Premium (for good, I think).
- I like that my posts are not topical since introducing the "Journal Entry". I just write down things and that's it. No need to over-polish. This is just a public journal.
- Baby things go pretty ok at the moment. Lots to learn though and not a lot of time for other things.
Although this might not stick: I personally like the service, but it's missing songs my partner would like to listen to, rather frequently. YT Music is out, Apple Music is out, Qobuz is probably out, so do we go to Spotify when the subscription is up for renewal? We might... Coudl also end up doing individual subscriptions. Wait and see. ↩︎
