I mean... I *could* do my refactorings by hand in emacs, or I could just use the refactoring menu in PHPStorm. *sigh* I don't know what I did expect, but spacemacs php-layer with the lsp backend and a performant php lsp doesn't really support a lot of refactorings that I use all the time (like "extract method")…^[1]

There is phpactor which has great refactoring features, but people seem to report lackluster performance even on small projects.
